Dear Emmanuel Family,
The past two months have been anything but normal, however, through it all, one thing has been made abundantly clear: we are still the church, and nothing can separate us from the love of God. While we look ahead to what our new “normal” will be, we must keep in mind that God knew this would be happening long before we did. With this knowledge, we do not approach this newness with fear, but with reliance on God and an eagerness to share the gospel in new ways.
This letter is full of information regarding the reentry into our building and this exciting time as we look to call a new pastor. As you read this letter, we ask you to keep two things in mind. First, please be aware that some of us are eager to return and continue back to what we would call normal, as soon as possible. Others, however, are still planning to wait and worship with our church family at home. We are making plans for the months ahead with both groups in mind so that no one will be left out and that we will remain unified as we move forward. Secondly, as we continue ahead, everyone will benefit from abundant amounts of grace offered to one another. Our prayer is that we will all choose, upfront, to be gracious with one another every step of the way. We are all doing the best we can.
Now, to the exciting part! Our first Sunday back at 2100 Noble Road will be on June 7th. Because of gathering limits and social distancing, we will have two identical services at 9 am and 10:45 am. Also, because of our limited space, we will need each family to register for which service they would like to attend. We will continue to offer our service online as well as through our phone-in system. The way we enter the building, what we do inside of the building, and how we will exit the building are outlined in the accompanying paper. The Staff, Deacons, and Building and Grounds committee have been working diligently to make Sundays as effortless as possible. We have monitored the ever-changing federal, state, and local guidelines to make sure that everyone is as safe as possible.
We love and miss all of you,
EBC Staff and Deacons
