Dear Emmanuel Church Family,

Responding to the unique challenges we are all experiencing due to COVID-19, your deacons and staff met last night on a conference call and made some significant ministry decisions for the near future of EBC.  These decisions were made with the following concerns first and foremost in our thoughts – honoring our Heavenly Father, fulfilling our Christ-given mission and your family’s health. We also want to be mindful of all government mandates and recommendations for public gatherings. So, for the near future…

  1. Emmanuel Baptist Church will not gather at our church facility for worship through Wednesday, April 8. We hope and pray we will be able to gather in multiple, small, worship services over Easter Weekend but it is much too early for us to make that call now. We will continue to monitor the situation and when a decision is made about Easter worship we will notify the church membership.

  2. Emmanuel Baptist Church will gather for worship electronically every Sunday morning. We will broadcast our Sunday worship service on the church’s YouTube channel. Each Saturday you will receive an email containing a link to our worship service. Simply get your Bible, click on the link in the email and worship with your church family. Yes, it will be different but I promise we will sing together, pray together, study His word together and worship together every Sunday. Encourage everyone who may not receive this email to make sure the church has their email address so they can receive a link to the service.  As always we will continue to mail a CD of our service to those without computer capabilities.

  3. Most of our Adult Sunday school classes are going to be meeting electronically. Our Sunday School teachers should contact all of their class members and communicate how your class will meet going forward. If a class is meeting in person, please no more than ten in attendance.

  4. Our Ladies Bible Study Groups will continue to meet. Again, no more than ten in attendance in face-to-face interaction.

  5. Our parents will be receiving a list of staff approved, downloadable resources to use to disciple their children.

  6. Our Student Pastor will be contacting our teens and developing ways to minister to them in the days ahead.

  7. Financially, your faithful giving is crucial during this time. Please be faithful to mail-in your tithe and offering to EBC, 2100 Noble Road, Raleigh, NC 27608; set up a “bill pay draft” to EBC by calling your bank, or simply dropping your tithe and offering off at the church. (Please review the email you will receive from the Stewardship Committee.)

  8. ALL of these plans are as of 3/19/20 and may need to be adjusted due to the fluid nature of the global pandemic. We will do our very best to communicate with you constantly and clearly.

Finally, let us share with you a verse that one of our members sent while this letter was being prepared to send to you. “Since He, Himself has gone through suffering and testing, He is able to help us when we are being tested.” (Hebrews 2:18)

EBC, together, with the help of Christ, we can do anything!

Grateful for the privilege of serving you,
The Staff and Deacons of EBC
