We exist to glorify God. Our mission is to follow Jesus as faithful disciples as we focus on the needs of others.

Women on Mission meets the second Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted). We are involved in several ongoing mission projects, including:

  • Orphanage. We send money to Isaiah's Home of Love, an orphanage in Zimbabwe, which is used to buy milk and food for the babies. We have also collected baby blankets, clothes, etc. for this orphanage. We have a collection box in the foyer for any offerings you may feel led to give, and this goes directly to the orphanage.
  • Pillows. We make pillows to share with Mayview and other local nursing homes.
  • Shoes. We have a shoe drive once a year to collect new or slightly used shoes for all ages to be distributed where the need is greatest. We work with Share our Shoes in this project.
  • Children's Home. We collect supplies for the Baptist Children's Home during the month of April. This year we will be collecting non-food items for the home.
  • Operation Christmas Child. Each year we fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Our goal each year is to fill 150 shoeboxes.
  • Clothes Closet. We also have a Clothes Closet for ladies. If you or someone you know has a need, please e-mail or call (919-834-3417) Lynn at the church office, or e-mail or call (919-876-3536) Mary Gibbs.

All ladies of the church are cordially invited to join the Women on Mission.

HOUSE OF HOPE

The Women on Mission of Emmanuel are collecting food and needed supplies for the House of Hope, located in Clayton NC. We are focusing on this project for February, and we will have a container and list of things that are needed at the back of the Fellowship Hall in the Missions comer. One of our members (Marta Richter) is on the staff of House of Hope, and so we feel this is a good ongoing project for our church.
